Andrew Connolly

About Andrew

I am proudly a true local Tidworthian: born at the family home in Pennings Road, schooled at both Clarendon Infants and Clarendon Juniors, completing my secondary education at the then Tidworth Secondary Modern School for Boys-subsequently Castledown. After school I attended Salisbury College of Technology; further education brought an Honours Degree in Business.

I have served, and have been a prominent activist, on the Town Council for over 20 years, 6 as Chairman. In this time I have seen Tidworth grow and evolve and I am privileged to have been involved in that progress, especially helping form a close Military/Civilian partnership that has proved essential in developing the special community of Tidworth.

I am currently Chairman of the Projects Committee which is spearheading the development of the Town’s new Civic Centre and I am also a Governor at the Wellington Primary Academy.

I operate a successful retail business with SPAR stores in Tidworth, Ludgershall and Pewsey, assisted by my two grown up daughters, Susan and Sarah. I am a passionate Portsmouth Football Club supporter; enjoy travel, running, squash and when time allows carp fishing.
