Although my full name is Elizabeth, I have always been known as Betty and have lived in Tidworth since 1979. I was born in Dublin and lived there until I married. As Tidworth was my husband’s last posting, and our five children were all at secondary school, we decided to settle here. I was the Verger in the Catholic Church for many years and was about to retire when my husband died suddenly. I have 1 son who lives in Tidworth with the rest living some distance away. Once I retired, I decided to get involved with the Community and joined the Council some years ago and am a member of the Services Committee. I have had the pleasure of judging Tidworth in Bloom for 2 consecutive years. I am also involved with volunteer groups within Aster communities and am Minutes Secretary for the Over Sixties.
